A SCHOOL brought literacy to life when pupils dressed as characters from C S Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia series.
Lions, witches and curious children filed into class on the first day of the week-long literacy event, which began on Monday.
The children were entertained by storytellers and Nicholas Allen, author of children's book The Queen's Knickers.
Headteacher Marilyn Davey said: "We decided to hold a book week to bring literacy alive. Hopefully the costumes will provide the stimulus for the children to carry on with the rest of the Narnia series."
