CHILDREN were given a lesson in being green when a recycling club paid a visit to their school.
The Bexley Council-run Schools Waste Action Club team came to St Thomas More Catholic Primary School, Sheldon Road, Bexleyheath, to carry out a waste audit.
The team supervised pupils in the January 25 exercise, which saw them collecting the rubbish bins from the school and sorting waste into separate categories.
The school, which already recycles paper and fruit peelings, held the event to discover how to extend and improve its policy.
Teacher Michelle Meehan said: "It is important children have the right attitude towards recycling and we encourage them to take what they learn in school with them for the rest of their lives."
