POLICE are urging motorists to remove satellite navigation systems from their cars after a spate of thefts.
In three separate incidents on the same evening, vehicles in Bluewater shopping centre were targeted by criminals eager to get their hands on the £300 systems.
The first took place between 6.30pm and 8.30pm when the window of a black Vauxhall Corsa was smashed to retrieve the machine. In the second attack, between 7pm and 10.30pm, thieves prized open the door of a Peugeot 206. Then between 8.40pm and 8.50pm a Ford Fiesta's windows were smashed to get at the equipment.
Police advise drivers to remove the systems and their holders when leaving their cars. If you have information on the January 20 thefts, call police on 01474 656221.
