FAMILIES have been invited to find out what hides beneath marshland reeds at a talk about snakes.
The event, at the St Edmund's Living Well Centre, St Edmund's Road, Temple Hill, has been organised by environmental charity Groundwork to encourage residents to visit Dartford marshes.
Reptile specialist Dr Lee Brady from the Kent Reptile and Amphibian Group will tell visitors about the adders, grass snakes and lizards living in the wetlands.
Groundwork conservation officer Emma Ventham said: "We hope the talk will also encourage volunteers to take part in a visual reptile survey on March 18."
Volunteers would be given full training by the Dartford-based charity to be able to spot the different types of wildlife living in the reed beds.
For information about the February 7 talk, which will be held from 7pm to 9pm, call Groundwork on 01322 287727.
