VISITORS to the chapel in Bexleyheath Cemetery over the Christmas holiday donated more than £600 to the Bexley mayor's charity appeal.
The cemetery chapel, in Banks Lane, off Bexleyheath Broadway, was opened to the public over the festive period with relatives and friends invited to sit and remember loved ones.
They were also encouraged to put a card of remembrance on the Christmas tree and they could make a voluntary donation to the Ellenor Foundation.
The foundation provides care to adults and children with serious or life-limiting illnesses.
Donations totalled £631, including £50 from Southern Memorials.
Bexley mayor Councillor John Shepheard thanked everyone involved, saying he was overwhelmed by the support for his chosen charity.
