YOUNGSTERS have been preparing for "real life" and learning how to be good citizens.
Around 400 Year 6 pupils from Orpington primary schools went along to Hillside Primary School, Dyke Drive, Orpington, to join in the Junior Citizen scheme.
The scheme, which is run by Bromley Council and the Met Police, teaches children who will soon be starting secondary school how to cope with everyday dangers, how to be good citizens and to have a sense of commmunity responsibility.
Children take part in interactive scenarios run by organisations such as the fire brigade and the Red Cross, to help them learn about safety and the consequences of criminal actions.
Co-ordinator Helen Andrews said: "The Year 6 children thoroughly enjoy their sessions, where they can practise real-life challenges in a safe environment which helps prepare them for transition to secondary school."
