THIRSTY schoolchildren are doing their bit to help fellow youngsters in Africa.
St Margaret's CE Primary School, St Margaret's Grove, Woolwich, is sponsoring a water pump which will feed up to 1,000 people in a village in Zimbabwe.
The pump is one of host being provided by charity Pump Aid, which aims to provide clean water for people across Africa.
Every time the school uses a water cooler from water company AquAid, Pump Aid will sponsor a new pump somewhere in Africa.
Headteacher Jeremy Lunnon said: "It is great our pupils are drinking more water.
"But it is even better we are assisting in the restoration of people's lives in other parts of the world."
