PARENTS with newborn babies are being given more help to cope with their new arrival.
Greenwich Children's Information Service is offering parents a free baby welcome pack to mark the birth of their new child.
The pack, which is given to all new babies registered in the borough, contains useful items including a holdall and a baby stretch suit.
It also includes a booklet providing information on the services available to parents across Greenwich.
Gemma Hughes and Tony Clarke, from Eltham, were the first couple in the borough to receive a pack, after the birth of their son Alfie on January 1.
They were presented with their pack by cabinet member for children and young people Councillor Jackie Smith, at a town hall ceremony.
