IF YOU are considering study in the field of theology, the University of Kent has advice for those who want to know what career path this type of training could lead to.
According to the University of Kent, of all UK students who take theology courses 47 per cent find employment and 41 per cent into further study.
The University of Kent findings also show 19.5 per cent of all former theology students in the UK move into clerical and secretarial jobs and the same amount choose professional occupations, 16.5 per cent are associate professionals and technicians, 14 per cent are in management and administration. Sales account for 14 per cent of former students and personal services also has 14 per cent.
Professions suited to the skills gained from religious studies include social youth and community work, counselling and journalism. Or you could be a librarian, a minister of religion or a teacher.
The skills gained from a theology course include:

- Critical evaluation
- Literacy and expression
- Negotiating
- Organising
- Problem solving
