A CHILDREN'S charity is calling for more men to befriend children living in care.
NCH is running the Independent Visitor scheme to find role models for the 310 children and young people living in care in Bromley.
Volunteers spend a few hours each month with their child.
They get to go on trips to places such as the cinema or museums.
Independent visitor project co-ordinator Brendan Lawlor said: "Any adult can become a volunteer, whatever their skills or experience.
"All they need is enthusiasm and a genuine desire to help make a difference.
"We are really keen to boost the number of male Independent Visitors to give children in care the contact with male adults so many of them lack."
Applications for the scheme need to be submitted to NCH by February 6.
