YOUNG actors are to hit prime-time TV as extras in a BBC crime drama.
Forty youngsters from Theatretrain performing arts school in Beckenham started shooting for Silent Witness in Tufnell Park, north London, on Sunday.
The story sees a girl murdered in school and the students, aged 11 to 17, will act in playground, school and community scenes. It will be televised in July.
Principal Juanita Alonso-Tavener says the BBC approached her and asked the students to get involved.
She added: "It's fantastic and so exiting to be chosen because of our reputation."
Theatretrain offers singing, acting and drama classes at Kelsey Park School for Boys, Manor Way, Beckenham, every Saturday.
