YOUNG musicians have been battling against each other to create the most "terrific music".
Nine teenagers from the Bromley Youth Music Trust, an organisation which helps young people develop musical ability, took part in the Norman Trotman Instrumental Competition on Sunday.
They were shortlisted from a group of 80 in December and the instruments they played included the cello, trombone and clarinet.
Alice Purton, 17, who plays the cello, won the event and received a trophy and cash prize.
Trust principal Peter Mawson said: "The evening was a great experience of terrific music. The competition aspect was secondary but the young people really enjoyed it."
Norman Trotman, who died in 1982, was the first person to head and co-ordinate brass instrumental teaching in the borough in the 1960s.
