BLIND residents are to get a boost in services following a grant from health chiefs.
Kent Association for the Blind (KAB) has been awarded funds by the Development Fund of Bromley Health, Social Care and Housing Partnership Board for a sight centre in the borough.
KAB is now looking for a suitable location for its services, which will include assessment for blind people's needs and a training area to develop skills for daily life and communication.
Director Les Ellis said: "It will make an enormous difference to blind and visually-impaired people in Bromley."
The borough has 2,000 blind and visually-impaired people.
