ONE of Shopperland's most popular and long-standing big bands has teamed up with a Rat Pack tribute act to recreate the swinging concert sounds of golden-era Las Vegas.
Len Phillips, from Bexley, has fronted his 16-piece band for 20 years, inspired by the classic music and style of greats such as Count Basie and Glenn Miller.
The singers, portraying Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davies Jnr and Dean Martin, have played at major events such as the VE Day celebrations and a Royal Command Performance.
The trio will be in good hands; the band's pianist, Don Hunt, once worked as musical director for the real Sammy Davies Jnr.
The Rat Pack Is Back, featuring the Len Phillips Big Band, February 3, Oakley House, Bromley Common Road, 8pm, £12.50, 01322 521515.
