FOOTBALL-MAD primary school pupils are being given the chance to play in their own mini-league.
The Lewisham inter-schools league brings together 29 schools across the borough to play in an organised, seven-a-side competition.
The competition, which is held on Blackheath every Saturday, allows both boys and girls to play in leagues against children of their own age group.
Matches will continue to be played until April, when the grand finals day takes place.
The competition, which is in its fifth year, is backed by Lewisham Council and funded by Glendale, who are responsible for parks and open spaces in the borough.
Organiser Paul Harper said: "The competition gives kids who are not good enough to play in league football the chance to play competitive football.
"It has been a great success and the kids love it."
