ENERGETIC children have kick-started the year in a healthy way to raise money for a hospital.
Pupils at the Riveston School, Eltham Road, Lee Green, have all been taking part in the school's annual healthy living week to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital.
The week's activities included football coaching from Millwall FC's community scheme, pupils playing a basketball match against staff and talks on the dangers of drugs from London-based counselling service Youth Reach.
The week has been co-ordinated by sports teacher Katie Bowman and the 250 pupils have each made small donations for some of the activities.
A cheque of £750 was presented to a representative from the hospital on Friday.
Ms Bowman said: "The main message for the pupils is to impress how lucky they are to be fit and healthy, while thinking about children who can't lead an active life."
