A DENTIST who let her unqualified boyfriend loose on her patients' teeth has been struck off by the General Dental Council.
Iranian-born Mogjan Azari, aged 38, of Oakwood Avenue, Beckenham, who was jailed for a year in March last year, has now been banned from practising after she allowed Omid Amidi-Mazaheri to perform painful operations on her patients.
Azari admitted four counts of obtaining money by deception at Southwark Crown Court on February 3 last year.
Amidi-Mazaheri, aged 41, of Henslowe Road, East Dulwich, who was also jailed for 12 months for two counts of deception, had no recognised dental qualifications and left members of the public in agony after drilling teeth without anaesthetic.
Fraud investigators discovered Azari had charged patients for work such as gum treatments and crowns without actually carrying it out.
Fellow Iranian Amidi-Mazaheri took on the identity of another dentist and claimed cash for work on patients' teeth.
Hillview Dental Centre, Brownhill Road, Catford, was one of the surgeries where Azari made false claims for treatment.
Azari's deceptions included four patients in Lewisham, who cannot be named for legal reasons. Her other clinics were based in London Road, Norbury, and in Tulse Hill, Brixton.
