VILLAGERS are contributing to the planning process by saying what any new housing should look like.
Meopham Parish Council is consulting with villagers to help create a Village Design Statement.
The statement allows residents the chance to say what they like about the design and character of their village.
This ensures any new developments fit in with the village's character.
The parish council is collating research from questionnaires collected in Meopham.
It hopes to produce a draft statement at the end of the month. Villagers will then be consulted on its contents.
The statement is a joint objective with Gravesham Council and could become part of the planning guidance for the area.
