PUPILS picked up litter in their school grounds as part of a week learning about caring for the environment.
Year 6 pupils at St Mary's CofE Primary School, Hayes Road, Greenhithe, armed themselves with litter picks and bin bags to clean up their school.
Pupils also learnt about the ways they can play their part in keeping the area clean.
An assembly and lessons were dedicated to learning about the environment.
Headteacher Susan Taylor said: "The children have really enjoyed it.
"Luckily they did not find much rubbish in the school."
All the events were held as part of Dartford Council's Deep Clean scheme.
The clean-up team tackles blots on the environment by removing litter, graffiti and overgrown vegetation.
