A PRIMARY school is celebrating recognition in helping pupils get the most out of life by being healthy.
Leesons Primary School has been given a National Healthy Schools Award.
This means teachers and pupils understand the importance of health in raising educational achievement.
The school in Leesons Hill, Orpington, has been working towards this for two years.
The 220 pupils can buy locally-supplied fruit and vegetables from a stall in the mornings.
Youngsters can become members of the school's gardening or cooking club and the dining room is set to get a makeover to make it a more enjoyable place to eat.
Teacher Alison Nye said: "We are delighted to get this award as we really want to educate children about making healthy choices to do well in education and in life."
The Government scheme aims to reduce health inequalities and raise educational standards.
