COURSE: Diploma in Learning Disability Nursing
WHERE? Greenwich University
PERIOD: Three years

ENTRY ONTO THE COURSE: At least four GCSEs are required and a background in nursing is an advantage but not essential.
REASONS FOR CHOOSING THE COURSE: I love working with people and wanted to do something more challenging than my old job in retail.
AREAS THE COURSE COVERS: The course is 50 per cent theory and 50 per cent practice, which means we spend half the course carrying out work experience in hospitals or nursing homes. We learn about how to deal with people with learning disabilities, both mental and physical.

THE FUTURE: I find this course really rewarding and would like to work in social services with children when I finish.
