BOGUS callers dressed as plain-clothed police officers have been targeting elderly residents.
Two men called at three homes in Seymour Villas, Victor Road and Bredhurst Close, all in Penge, with fake identification on December 23 and January 5.
They told residents they had stopped someone who had stolen cash from their address.
Once inside they ask where the residents kept their money and stole it.
Both suspects are white and aged around 30.
The first is between 5ft 8in and 6ft tall.
The second suspect is 5ft 6in tall, has a stocky build and is described as "having no neck"
and different coloured eyes or a squint.
Sector Inspector Martin Hills said: "Please be vigilant. If someone knocks on your door claiming to be a police officer, ask for their identification and say you will call the police station to confirm who they are.
"Do not let them in until you have done this.
"If the caller is genuine, they will not mind."
Anyone who has information should call police on 020 8284 8925.
