SENIOR citizens were treated to a party thanks to a team of volunteers.
Chislehurst Rotary Club threw a free party for the 60 elderly residents in the community to welcome in the new year.
The event, which was held in Chislehurst Village Hall, Church Road, Chislehurst, was organised with some of the thousands of pounds raised by club fundraising events this year.
These included collections with Father Christmas's sleigh and a firework display at Chislehurst Recreation Ground in November.
Ethel Murphy, 91, has attended the party for the past nine years.
She said: "The food was wonderful and the young man who organised the music selected all the right songs for us to sing along to."
Organiser and Chislehurst Rotary Club member Keith Thomas said: "We had record numbers accepting an invitation this year and everyone seemed to enjoy it."
