PARENTS have only a few weeks left to apply for a primary school place for their children.
The deadline for admissions to primary school is February 1 and any parent whose child's fifth birthday falls between September 1 this year and August 31, 2007, must apply.
So far, only a third of parents have applied for the 3,500 primary school places in the borough.
Under the new system, introduced for 2006/07, parents only have to fill in one form.
Bromley Council's school admissions manager Doreen Pendergast says it is a fairer system but the process for allocating places is unchanged.
She added: "Parents are advised to include at least one school which has historically covered the area in which they live."
Forms can be picked up from the Civic Centre, Stockwell Close, Bromley.
They can also be collected at any primary school in the borough.
