THE ancient art of hedge laying will be carried out by volunteers who care for the Lesnes Abbey Woods in Abbey Wood.
The Lesnes Abbey Conservation Volunteers are inviting others to join them over several weekends to help create new woodland boundaries along the edge of the woods at New Road.
The trained volunteers will also be planting native trees along the boundary.
This will, in time, become part of the hedge.
No experience is needed to take part and the hedge laying will take place this Sunday, February 5 and February 19, starting from the information centre in the Lesnes Abbey ruins off Abbey Road, Abbey Wood, at noon and finishing at 3.30pm.
To book a place, call John Cannell on 020 8317 3748.
