REVELLERS could soon be allowed to enjoy a longer night out drinking on the river.

A boat company wants two vessels moored at Greenwich Pier to be able to serve alcohol until 2am seven days a week.

The boats the Avon Tuur and the London Rose would also be allowed to stage live music until 1am.

The vessels are two of around 30 so-called Party Boats, which stage entertainment for revellers while travelling up and down the River Thames.

The applications, made by boat owner Viscount Cruises Limited, were due to be heard by a Greenwich Council licensing committee last night.
