RESIDENTS are being encouraged to get their hearing checked.
A campaign has been launched by the Royal National Institute for the Deaf (RNID), to get more people to test their hearing.
The RNID is offering a free five-minute telephone hearing check which is designed to assess whether or not people need a hearing aid.
A survey carried out recently by the charity revealed around four million people across the country are losing their hearing but not doing anything about it.
To get your hearing tested, call 0845 600 5555.
The RNID is the largest charity representing deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK.
