YOUNG bookworms were helped to take their first steps in learning how to read.
A host of children joined their parents at Wavelengths Library, Giffin Street, Deptford, at the reading class for under-fives.
The classes are run by the library as part of its drive to encourage pre-school children to develop an interest in reading.
Other events planned in coming weeks include a celebration to mark the birthday of Winnie The Pooh author AA Milne and a children's party for the Chinese New Year.
