COCAINE KITS: Kent police officers are being trained to use drug kits which can detect the presence of cocaine in minutes. Training is being provided using assets confiscated from convicted drug offenders. The Home Office-approved kits will be admissable as evidence in a trial.
DEPOT CLOSURE: Supermarket J Sainsbury's is to close one of its warehouses in Springhead Road, Northfleet. The distribution depot, managed by Exel Logistics, employs 191 workers. Closure is expected by April and consultation regarding redundancies will take place between now and then.
SIGN UP: Adam Cunningham, of Land Securities Plc, has applied to Dartford Council to display an illuminated sign at the entrance to the Ebbsfleet Management Centre, Eastern Quarry, Watling Street. The January 9 application is being considered by planning officer Sonia Bunn.
