THE parents of a 24-year-old man killed in a car crash have revealed their pain in an exhibition warning against dangerous driving.
Sylvia Williams, 51, and her husband Barry, 57, of Balliol Road, Welling, are just one of 12 families featuring at an exhibition showing the devastation caused by car crashes.
Their son Stephen and his fiancee Sheila Ryan, 25, from Surrey, were killed on the M20 in September 2000 after their car collided with a lorry.
Mrs Williams was approached by artist Paul Wenhan-Clarke in 2004 and agreed to be photographed to help other families and send a powerful message to drivers.
The couple are photographed in their home holding a picture of Stephen and hand-written testimony below it describes their loss.
Former school assistant Mrs Williams said: "It was important we took part. Stephen's death tore our family apart. It is a powerful collection and we hope it will make drivers think about their actions and how they can change lives."
When Lives Collide runs at the OXO Tower, Bargehouse Street, London, until January 29.
