PROPERTY NEWS: Residents will soon learn if they have been allocated a property in an affordable housing development. The 10 houses in Evenden Road, Meopham, will be awarded to village residents or those who qualify through a family connection. A consultation for a second affordable housing development in Evenden Road is taking place.
HOUSE FIRE: The back room of a house in Lowfield Street, Dartford, caught fire after an unattended cigarette set upholstery alight. Firefighters from Dartford were called to the scene at 8pm. Nobody was injured in the January 15 incident.
CAR PARK OPEN: Drivers in Gravesend will be able to park in the Gurdwara car park from the end of January. The car park was due to open in November but was delayed for safety reasons because a wall had to be built between it and a railway embankment.
TUNNEL BLAZE: Traffic was delayed for an hour after firefighters from Dartford were called out to help the driver of a VW Golf after it caught fire in the Dartford Tunnel on January 13 at 7.56am. The driver was not injured.
