VOLUNTEERS are being asked to pass on parenting skills and give a helping hand to new mums.
Home Start is looking for helpers who can give two hours of support each week to its network of 200 families across north Kent.
The Gravesend charity helps mums with children under the age of five who find it difficult to cope.
Before being assigned to a family, volunteers will need to attend 10 free weekly training sessions.
It will cover topics including behaviour and listening skills.
Home Start coordinator Julia Barker said: "The scheme is about making a difference and if you can understand some of the problems faced by new mothers then we would love to hear from you."
To volunteer for the course, which begins on February 24, call 01474 325300.
