A HOUSING association is still hoping to build on the site of a former police station, despite council planners rejecting its initial proposal.
Greenwich Council's chief planning officer last month turned down Asra's bid to turn the disused Shooters Hill Police Station into 46 flats.
But now the housing association says it will consult council planners before lodging a fresh application.
Asra development director Mukhtar Latif said: "We are disappointed our initial application has been rejected but we will meet with the planning team in the next few weeks to establish the reasons why.
"It is important to fully understand the reasons behind the decision before agreeing the next steps to ensure completion of this important redevelopment project."
The police station, in Well Hall Road, Eltham, stopped full-time operation seven years ago as part of a re-organisation of Met police stations in south east London.
