Move over Ann Summers, there is a new type of party, set to empower women.
If you have a passion for DIY, you'll be pleased to know everyone in the industry is banging on about the newest name in tool manufacturing and its unconventional parties which showcase its products.
The US-based company Tomboy Tools has caused a storm stateside and is due to launch in the UK this March.
At a Tool Party, guests gain the confidence to use a variety of tools and tackle home improvement or home maintenance projects on their own.
They can learn simple and cost efficient tips in tool usage, drywall and plaster repair, painting tips and techniques, leaky tap and toilet repair, woodworking and trim molding and basic tiling.
Tomboy Tools are made to fit a female grip and are smaller and lighter for handling and have been designed with aesthetics in mind.
Recent research has suggested that 80 per cent of home improvement decisions and 60 per cent of DIY purchases are now made by women, according to the business consultancy the Proficiency Group.
This new breed of consumers are not just painting cupboard doors and putting up new curtains either. More than half say they have repaired a faulty toilet, while 46 per cent say they have fixed a leaking tap.
