CHILDREN and their parents are being invited to choose how their playground is to be revamped.

Bexley Council plans to refurbish six children's playgrounds and is inviting people to look at the proposed designs.

The £740,000 work is part of a £3m programme to upgrade play facilities in parks and open spaces.

Last year the council won Play Quality Site awards for five of its newly-refurbished playgrounds from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

To look at the proposed designs, call into the pavilion at the recreation ground at Sussex Road, Northumberland Heath, from 11am until 3pm today; St Michael's Church hall, Upper Wickham Lane, Welling, tomorrow from 1pm to 4pm for East Wickham Open Space designs and Belvedere community centre, Mitchell Close, Belvedere, on Friday from 10am to 1pm for Franks Park designs.

The other three playgrounds also being refurbished are in Abbey Wood recreation ground, Slade Green recreation ground and in the grounds of the new North Cray community centre.
