PENSIONER power could be on the rise as older people are canvassed about refusing to pay their council tax.
The borough's pensioners' forum is asking for views from groups throughout the capital on support for a campaign of non-payment in protest at Londoners having to shoulder the bill for the 2012 Olympics.
If the idea has widespread support, the forum hopes to draw up proposals for its non-payment campaign at tomorrow's meeting in Bexley civic offices in Bexleyheath Broadway.
Groups can send their views on the non-payment campaign to the forum secretary Peter Coulter, 4 Beechwood Crescent, Bexleyheath, DA7 4EL.
