POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack which left a greeting cards wholesalers "substantially" damaged.
The fire broke out at Supreme Greeting Cards, Acorn Industrial Park, Crayford Road.
Bexleyheath fire station was alerted to the blaze by the industrial park's security team at 9.06pm.
Four fire engines and 20 firefighters arrived at the scene to find the fire raging and smoke billowing from the roof of unit five.
Ten minutes into tackling the blaze, the rear end of the unit's roof collapsed.
It took an hour to get the fire under control but firefighters worked through the night until 10am the following morning to fully extinguish the blaze.
Station spokesman Gary Holmes, who was in charge of tackling the fire, said: "We arrived to find smoke and fire billowing from the roof. It was spreading from units one to six but we containd the fire to unit five.
"There was 100 per cent damage to the inside."
Fire and police forensic investigations are ongoing.
