The first print competition of the New Year was judged by Jack Bates who gave a very informative and amusing commentary.
"My brain hursts" by Mike Sacre was a close-up black and white print of the middle of a rugby scrum, the tortured expressions on the faces and the pattern of heads created a very evocative picture.
Joshua' by Mike Walford was a child study that was enhanced by the childs toys being so arranged so as to form a multi-coloured paternised background.
Reed Reflections' by Lesley Rees was unusual that the pattern created resembled angel fish swimming in a tank, it deservadly received full marks.
In Moth Orchid' by Alan Epilron. The vivid colours and delicate veins were enhanced by the jet black background.
New member Julie Avernall entered two sunsets both featured dark silhouettes agains a brightly coloured evening sky.
