ORPINGTON FIELD CLUB
Are you interested in Natural History? If so the activities of the Orpington Field Club might interest you.
The Orpington Field Club is a well established natural history organisation and has been running field trips to areas of special interest for over 40 years.
The purpose of the club is to promote an interest in and knowledge of the natural history of North and West Kent, especially in the Bromley and Orpington areas focusing on observation, identification and recording.
All aspects of natural history are included e.g. Birds, Fungi, Chalkland Flowers, Butterflies and Moths, Mammals, Dragonflies and Damselflies.
Field trips are arranged for most Saturdays during the year and start from Park Avenue, Orpington at the junction with Sevenoaks Road. Car sharing is possible for those without transport. Some excursions are full day when a picnic is taken, others are morning only. There are also winter evening meetings at the Priory, Orpington on the second Friday of each month when illustrated talks are organised.
The club is fortunate in having a number of members with knowledge in specialist subjects. They are always happy to share their experience with members and lack of particular knowledge is no bar to membership.
For further information of events please telephone the club Chairman Gary Cliffe on 01689 855913.
