POLICE arrested 38 people for drink-driving offences over the Christmas period.

The arrests were made between December 1 and December 31.

Drivers were arrested and charged for either being unfit to drive, failing to provide a breath test or for providing a positive breath test.

The cases are currently being heard at Bromley Magistrates' Court.

In total 261 drivers were breath tested as part of the campaign.

Superintendent Matt Bell said: "I am heartened by the number of drivers who provided negative breath tests.

"But there are still motorists who think it is acceptable to drink and drive.

"When they are caught, they will be prosecuted."
