WILDLIFE lovers have got messy to ensure wild birds do not go hungry this winter.
More than 20 people spent last Sunday at High Elms Nature Centre pushing fat and seed into empty plastic milk cartons and small logs to make bird feeders.
The event was held at the centre in Shire Lane, Farnborough, to encourage people to attract wild birds into their gardens.
Countryside and parks ranger Nick Hopkins said: "We are trying to get people to understand about wildlife.
"We want to get people to take action for wildlife.
"In the countryside it is often difficult for birds to find food.
"Residents can help out by leaving food in their gardens."
