BROMLEY-BASED chamber choir the Allegri Singers are staging a concert which celebrates music devoted to, or inspired by, the Virgin Mary.

The choral pieces span 450 years, from Palestrina to the present day.

The programme includes works by Mendelssohn, Bruckner, Poulenc, Tavener and Gorecki.

The Allegri Singers have performed in venues such as the Royal Festival Hall and as guest choir at festivals including the Salisbury Festival.

They have performed on radio and TV broadcasts and recorded two CDs.
