COUNCIL FAKES: Two men claiming to be from the council tried to convince an 85-year-old woman to let them into her home in High Road, Wilmington. They left after 10 minutes but between 3.45pm and 4pm on December 6 the victim saw a shadow at her kitchen window and heard the front door close. Anyone with information on the incident should call 01474 565167.

BEAT OFFICERS: Residents in Gravesend have three new police officers patrolling their streets. PC Tony Francis will take up his beat in the town centre. PC Steve Hammond has taken over the patrol in Swanscombe and Greenhithe while PC James Walker will begin work in Kings Farm.
