ENTHUSIASTIC children stopped, looked and listened to a road safety officer during a day of classroom talks.
Pupils at Northend Primary School, Peareswood Road, Erith, were taught skills to make journeys to school safer.
Infants were taught about basic skills, such as holding hands and stopping at the curb side and junior pupils were educated about more complex road issues, such as car stopping distances.
Assistant road safety officer for Bexley Council Christine Eaton, who ran the talks, said: "Children need to realise the importance of road safety.
"Northend Road, which the school backs onto, is a 40mph road and pupils have to use it to get to school.
"It is vital this important message of road safety is impressed upon children at a young age."
