NEW figures released by a green group point to the lack of swimming facilities in the borough.
The Green Group for the London Assembly says the 219,000 residents of Bexley have to share a "paltry" four publicly-run swimming and athletics facilities.
The group also fears the situation will get worse as the 2012 Olympics gets closer.
Green Party London Assembly member Darren Johnson said: "I am amazed at just how bad the current situation is.
"What benefit can Londoners expect from the Olympics if they aren't given a fair opportunity to participate in the sports they'll be watching?"
