A MORNING of fun and games has been organised to celebrate a scheme to give free books to children.
Staff at Dartford Library, in Central Park, are gearing up to launch Bookstart Plus a national initiative hoping to promote a life-long love of books.
To kick-start the event a host of activities including a clown, art sessions and a treasure hunt have been organised.
Children from the age of seven months will be given free book packs to encourage an interest in reading.
Library spokesman Rebecca Banks said: "It should be a really exciting morning.
"There will be lots of fun activities to keep the children entertained."
To find out more about the January 20 launch, between 10am and 1pm, call the library on 01322 221133.
