PROFESSIONALS and volunteers in Bexley got together for a brainstorming session to come up with new ideas.
The group looked at how community services in the area could be improved.
Among those attending the Areas of Opportunity session were headteachers, health professionals and council officers as well as community workers, who took part in a variety of workshops.
After canvassing residents' views, the session looked at diet, teenage pregnancy, racism and alternative education.
Among the ideas being developed are a community food initiative to make quality, healthy food affordable for people; developing teenage pregnancy services; providing extra support for children aged up to 11 and cookery courses.
The Areas of Opportunity Programme, run by Bexley Council, aims to improve the quality of life of residents.
