CHILDREN will be treated to a day trip after two teams of police officers put on their football boots for charity.
More than £500 was raised for Rainbow Lodge by north Kent police at the fundraising match, involving two teams of 11 officers, in Princes Road, Dartford.
The Stone-based charity helps children aged between five and 18 who suffer from learning difficulties, including autism, and who need 24-hour care.
PC Michelle Armoude-dieu, who played in game, said: "All of the money raised will be used by the lodge to help it cover everyday costs and also to take the children on a day out."
The officers presented a cheque to the charity last month and also donated a pool table for the children to use.
