NURSERY and pre-school children have been given a gentle introduction to their new primary school.
Days Lane Primary School, Days Lane, Sidcup, hosted the event which gave children up to the age of five the chance to meet their new teachers and make friends.
The school, which saw 40 reception-age children join in the September term, will take on an additional 45 to 50 children this week.
The day saw the youngsters learning about classroom equipment and familiarising themselves with their new surroundings.
Deputy headteacher Ann Lee said: "We are trying to make it as easy as possible for the children and to make the transition from home to school a smooth and harmonious one."
