A VOLUNTEER who has devoted her time to helping vulnerable children has been rewarded for her dedication.
Symone Reid, of Wrottesley Road, Plumstead, has worked as a volunteer with charity Rainer London Housing for the past three years.
Now she has has received an accolade at the annual Rainer Volunteer Awards for her outstanding contribution to assisting young people.
The charity aims to provide accommodation for children who have vulnerable parents aged between 16 and 21.
Mrs Reid, 30, works most evenings, organising trips and activities for the children and their parents and spending time with them in their accommodation.
She said: "Working with young parents means you have to deal with a lot of different problems but the rewards you get back make it all worthwhile."
Mrs Reid was presented with a certificate by Home Office minister Paul Goggins, at the awards ceremony, which was held at the House of Commons.
